Halter Ranch

We’ve had this house in Fredericksburg for a little more than 10 years now. Imagine that. It was about the same time that I started this blog and I had a kick going to all these restaurants here and making my little reviews. Now, most of those restaurants have closed. It is time to “freshen up” my Fredericksburg category.

Halter Ranch is one of our new favorites. Their wines are from Paso Robles and they have this little goat farm in the back. The dining area is superb. The chef’s menu is small but very creative. I have yet to have a bad meal here.

This was from a few weeks back and they had a seafood boil.
Today, I tried the soft shell crab tempura. It had a mild curry sauce and lots of fennel
This is D’s burger
I forgot what this dessert is called but it had kumquat as its main ingredient

Halter Ranch is a definite must-try. It’s a gorgeous property (with lots of parking!— if you’ve been to FBG downtown, this is a big deal) with legit good food and wine.
